Bespoke Kinran Textiles

We create bespoke Nishijin Kinran textiles for shrines and temples, as well as contemporary architectural and interior settings.

Each project begins with a conversation— about purpose, scale, materials, and context.

Materials may include gold, platinum, silver, and patterned metal foils, selected according to the design, color palette, and intended use.

Our textiles are also commissioned for gifts, including for distinguished patrons.

Each textile is produced as a bespoke piece, with scale and specifications determined for each project.

  1. Initial inquiry. Please contact us via the form below to begin the conversation.

  2. Project discussion
We begin by discussing the intended use, scale, design direction, and budget. You may share reference images, rough sketches, or a completed design. If a finished design is available, please also provide quantity and desired delivery timing. An initial estimate is provided at this stage.
  3. Quotation
Pricing is determined by materials, weaving structure, and design complexity. Estimates are provided without charge.
  4. Confirmation and design setup
Once the quotation is accepted, we finalize specifications and prepare weaving data. Color selection for warp and weft threads is confirmed at this stage.
  5. Sample weaving
A Kinran textile sample is woven for review.
  6. Sample delivery
Sample color and texture may differ from the final production. Sample weaving costs are calculated based on fabric price and length. A half-width silk sample (approximately 35 cm wide) is provided.
  7. Final adjustments
Based on the sample, we refine design details, color balance, and weaving structure. This process may be repeated until the specifications are finalized.
  8. Production weaving
Production begins after final approval. Minimum production length is 5 meters. Lead time varies depending on design and materials.
  9. Delivery
Finished textiles are carefully prepared and delivered.
