Nishijin-ori is one of Japan’s proud traditional crafts, celebrated for its exquisite handwork.
With techniques and skills honed over centuries, we have woven the evolving styles of Mickey Mouse, who has a history spanning over 100 years.
This time, Interior Chabako will be displaying and selling these creations at the Hanabana Festival at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.

This chabako holds special significance. The fabric was woven by “Nishijin Okamoto,” a company that has provided gold brocade to shrines and temples across Japan for four generations. With great passion, they repeatedly created test weavings, refining the colors and shapes, until achieving the final product.
This box is filled with Disney charm, including Little Golden Books first published in the 1940s, miniature books, FROZEN glass pens, Winnie the Pooh sealing stamp sets, and postcards.
The Little Golden Book series was created during the hardships of wartime, when entertainment was scarce and books were considered a luxury. These picture books have historical significance as they were made to provide affordable books for children.
This tea box will protect the books from humidity, insects, and deterioration for decades to come. The stories preserved within will remain family treasures, bringing excitement to everyone.
