Reasons and Background for Selection
Since its founding in 1909 (Meiji 42), Okamoto Orimono Co., Ltd. has been dedicated to handweaving Nishijin brocade, creating silk textiles that represent ‘paradise.’ Through Nishijin weaving, we have established deep connections with the local community and contributed significantly.
While preserving traditional techniques, we actively incorporate new designs and technologies, continuously innovating to meet the needs of the times. Additionally, through our efforts to promote traditional crafts, we strive to bridge cultural heritage into the future.
These points were highly regarded, leading to our selection this time.
Strengths, Characteristics, and Future Prospects of Our Business as a Company
The main business of Okamoto Orimono Co., Ltd. is the production of Nishijin brocade through handweaving.
While inheriting traditional techniques, we widely provide interior products, apparel, and fabric accessories to meet modern needs, ranging from everyday use to special occasions.
We excel in producing custom textiles using high-quality materials such as premium silk, pure gold and platinum metallic threads, and gold leaf, which require skilled craftsmanship. We are the only company that offers patterned gold leaf brocade fabric to the general market.

Our company has earned the deep trust of our customers through the technical skills and expertise we have developed over the years. Moving forward, we will continue to support the grandeur of shrines and temples with the silk textiles that have been the foundation of our business since our establishment.
We will continue to preserve the tradition of Nishijin while embracing new challenges. We are committed to providing a wide range of Nishijin brocade silk textiles that our customers will cherish for years to come.
