The exhibition “Intimate Intertwining: Contemporary Finnish Fashion” focuses on the intersection of the new politics of fashion and digital disruption, exploring the intimate relationship between the body and clothing, and the impact of digitalization on it, through the work of Finnish fashion designers and brands. The exhibition will feature a selection of works by Finnish fashion designers and brands.

The exhibition will show how designers are addressing body norms and how the digitalization of fashion is changing this relationship.

The exhibition is based on the exhibition “Intimacy” shown at the Design Museum in Helsinki, Finland in 2021-2022, which surveys the work of Finnish fashion designers working in Finland in the 2020s and beyond.

The exhibition was held in conjunction with the publication of the book Intimacy: Intimacy. Embodied knowledge, creative work and digitalization in contemporary Finnish fashion.

The exhibition was curated by Aalto University professor Annamari Vänskä and postdoctoral researcher Natalia Särmäkari and funded by the Strategic Research Council of the Research Council of Finland. (Intimacy in Data-driven Culture: IDA), a part of the IDA.
